Hey Y’all! I guess you’re here to find out who I am, so let’s get this introduction started.
I was born on a southern plantation many, many moons ago…Just kidding! I’ve been a lifelong Mitten-dweller since 1976. For those of you unfamiliar with that term, I have been a Michigan resident since I was born, though I do hope to change that sooner rather than later. I did a brief stint in California but I was super young and got incredibly homesick so I came back after a few months…now I’d kill for constant warmth and sunshine!
I am a very creative/imaginative person chocked full of anxiety, and I am always looking for new outlets to express that. My most comforting form of expression has always been poetry.
I started writing poetry when I was 16, not because I thought it was a “cool thing to do”, but because if I didn’t my head would have exploded. With a multitude of thoughts and emotions billowing through my brain, I had no other choice but to let them out. Some have been funny, many have been sad, but mostly they’ve been guideposts. I have dabbled in novel-writing but it’s mostly ideas jotted down; perhaps one day I will actually get one finished.
I am also a beauty lover. What does that mean? Well, we can start with the obvious, cosmetics. I have always been intrigued by them and loved all the ways you can accentuate your natural beauty. Now I have the privilege of helping others find the products that best suit them as an Independent Cosmetics Consultant. More on that in the Beauty tab. Aside from the cosmetics aspect, skin care itself is something I am extremely passionate about. All I can say is you are never too young to start caring for your skin!
Other than that, I absolutely adore my husband, I am insanely proud of my kids, I have the coolest dog on the planet, and I love to travel! I hope to see as much of the world as possible. Once upon a time I attempted being a runner (though some may have called it jogging with enthusiasm), I love yoga and meditation, I thoroughly enjoy weight-lifting, and I would like to start doing some hiking. I also love music and going to concerts, coffee is my best friend, and over thinking is my worst enemy.
So that’s pretty much me in a nutshell. Nothing too fancy or exciting, just a 40-something still trying to figure it all out.
I hope you enjoy my ramblings.
